Local attractions and ameneties.

Apart from visiting the beaches during the summer months,or the snowy slopes of the Sierras during the winter,there are lots of things to keep the more active visitor occupied.

The GR7 walking route runs along the lower part of the town attracting hiking enthusiasts from many countries. Mountain biking is very popular in the area too.Horse riding is also available locally. There is a busy marina at Almerimar, with shops and a wide variety of restaurants.

Throughout the year there are fiestas in Cadiar and many of the surrounding villages. Cadiar has its main fiesta in October, usually between 4th - 9th. In August, usually around 12th - 15th there is Expocadiar, an agro- gastronomic event and of course Kings night on 5th January when the children traditionally receive gifts from the 3 Kings.

There is a bi-monthly street market on the 3rd and 18th of every month.
During the school summer holidays the town pool is open.

The Alhambra at Granada lures many visitors from this area, and there is also a Science Park in Granada which is well worth a visit.
